Course proposal

Art Underground is the education program of the Columbus Arts Council. The mission of the program is to provide quality, affordable arts education to residents of Columbus and surrounding areas. The program is grounded in the belief that experiencing and creating art is integral to each person's and our community's overall quality of life.

All Art Underground classes are held in the Rosenzweig Arts Center (RAC) in downtown Columbus. With generous support from the community and the Mississippi Arts Commission, the RAC was renovated to include facilities for art instruction. The RAC includes two classrooms, an open studio, a gallery, and a 90-seat theater space on the second floor. Visual arts classes are held in the downstairs classrooms, while performing arts classes are held upstairs in the theatre space.
