CAC offers a $10 subscription to 3 YPAS performances throughout the school year for children in K-6 grades.  The program is achieved through cooperation with the local schools.

(K-6th grades) News headlines about the alarming increase in childhood obesity appear nearly every day. Two Beans Productions joins the battle against the epidemic with The Jack Spratt Low-Fat World Tour, a fun-filled musical production commissioned and endorsed by the American Cancer Society, driving home the importance of healthy eating in the fight against heart disease and obesity. Language Arts, Health & Nutrition, Reading , Music, Theater, Performance Etiquette.

(K-3rd grades) Hurray, Hurray! Junie B. Jones is finally graduating from kindergarten and is ready for first grade, at last! But getting used to the whole new group of friends, a new teacher, and new glasses is challenging, even for irrepressible Junie B. Jones. Follow her adventures as she writes everything down in her “top-secret personal beeswax” journal. A new musical based on the books by Barbara Park. Language Arts, Theater, Music, Physical Education, Perseverance, and Performance Etiquette.

(4th-8th grades) The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is based on the classic story by Mark Twain. Tom’s adventures begin with a whitewashed fence, a sweet girl named Becky, Huckleberry Finn, and tales of pirating and treasure hunting. Only after a surprising funeral and a murder trial where the truth is uncovered does the audience see Tom not only as an adventurer but also as a moral hero. Join Birmingham Children’s Theatre to share in lessons of bravery, truth and adventure where Tom meets his match and mischievous fun begins…Tom Sawyer style. Language Arts, Theater, Social Studies, and Performance Etiquette.

(K-6th grades) ”Gems: The World’s Wisdom Stories” uses storytelling styles from many cultures including masks, mime, inventive costumes and puppetry to introduce students to a collection of wisdom stories from around the world. Each performance includes four story productions chosen from the following stories: “The Lion and the Mouse,” “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” (Aesop’s), “The Drippy Nose Boy” (Native American), “The Lame Man and The Blind Man” (The Middle East), “The Tiger’s Whisker” (Korea), “The Crocodile and the Monkey” (India), and others. Art, Fables, Language, Dramatic Arts, Puppets, Reading , Social Studies, and Performance Etiquette.
